   Final tally; 104 medals (46 gold, 29 silver, 29 bronze). Next two runners up – China with 87, Russian Federation with 82.

   And if anybody says of our Mars rover “yah, well, we could’a done that,” just tell ’em “but you DIDN’T.”

   Not a bad week for a measly 5% of the world’s population. Not bad at all.

   Of the two listed accomplishments I’m much more impressed by the one that occurred on Mars. The Olympics just leave a bad taste in my mouth anymore.
