A company named Canopy Financial, which specializes in Health Savings Accounts (HSA’s), had its CEO run off with a large chunk of money from people’s accounts.
Definitely a bad thing. Bad CEO. He needs to go to jail for a very long time.
However, Jon DeVore at HorsesAss.Org says that this means that HSA’s are bad and that they either need to be more heavily regulated or done away with altogether. Oh, and Libertarians are stupid doodie-heads for thinking HSA’s are good things and this CEO’s crime is their fault.

Man, that’s a little bed of hatred over there isn’t it? Granted, they’d consider me “non-sentient” which is a fantastic way of dismissing one’s opponents as sub-human, therefore making any harm you do to them ‘morally acceptable’. Slave owners and jihadists do the exact same thing. Go figure.
I just started an HSA for my family (I’m covered through work, they weren’t). Now, my health insurance for my family isn’t tied to my employment. The high deductible forces me to ration my health care out a bit better as it’s not $10 to see the doctor over a sniffle any more. This frees up the doctor’s time to see more important patients or, if he doesn’t have enough, then it will force him to lower his prices so that people like me are more willing to go there for more minor things. Win win.
Over time, my contributions into the HSA will allow me to utilize the reserves to cover those deductibles, or barring that, I will have a nice savings account that will come in handy as I get older and need to purchase more expensive medical care without draining the system.
Now, me buying into an HSA which I can afford harms others how? Why is it that lefties get so enraged over someone being successful?
Kneejerk liberal solution: make another law, which not only has little chance of working, but screws up the economic balance in a sector at the same time.
Every time someone says, “there oughta be a law”, challenge them as to how and why their law would have prevented not only the incident in question, but all similar crimes.
ALWAYS challenge a liberal’s first premise. 90% of the time, it is a false premise. As a matter of fact, I don’t even let them finish presenting their case anymore, I interrupt them whenever I detect a bullshit first premise. Makes me unpopular with the nuanced crowd, but so farking what?
Yes, you missed the Liberal Logic train. You see, if you gave money to a corporation, you’re an Enemy of the State. A progressive understands that every dollar spent by an individual that goes towards a corporation is just one more dollar stolen by corporations away from the Government and the People of the United States.
