Nadia Ali’s performance was pretty good. She was engaged with the crowd, had great moves, and was only occasionally flat (as you’ll hear in the cringingly painful clip below). I’ve noticed that lots of live performers seem to have trouble hitting pitch (and to her credit she did have some obvious difficulties with her earpiece and mic that a tech had to come onstage to fix).
She had a bass fiddle player — unusual for a dance group — who played extremely energetically, as you might imagine.

In all, it was a good performance that sounded much better live than what you hear in the clip above.
She’s put on a few pounds since her teenage years when she rocketed to fame, but it looks good on her and she’s an extremely sexy woman in person. We were about five feet away from the stage most of the night, so the wife and I got a good helping of eye candy. 🙂

“I’ve noticed that lots of live performers seem to have trouble hitting pitch…” No kidding! Have you ever heard the Beach Boys live? Cats in a bag are better…
Oh dear. Their whole schtick is the harmony. If that’s gone, why bother?
The only performer I know of who has perfect pitch, even live, is Esthero.
She is vastly under-rated and deserves much more success.
