I once was able to take my law-school final exams early because of a family emergency. Didn’t mention the emergency involved going to Cancun. Worked out fine.
I’m going to say that I’m going out of town for a conference. Works like a charm, because they’re the ones telling me to involve myself in things that look good on my grad school resume. 🙂
