Silence in Syria, Panic in Iran

…because their Russian-made air-defense systems have been shown to be completely worthless. Read the whole thing, it’s funny as hell.

“The Israelis are very smart people, and developed all that specialized hardware/software on their own…” (wink)
:the USAF takes a very quiet bow, & exits stage left.

This isn’t the first time that the world has seen how well Russian systems perform.

Remember when we did Iraq 1?

There have been holes in Iranian radar coverage going back almost 25 years. There used to be a gap in coverage between 12,000 and 14,000 feet that you could just about fly a B-52 through without detection.

They have an illiterate military over there, and the few that can read the (poorly translated) Russian technical manuals probably don’t understand what they ARE reading.

The few officers/senior NCOs who could run the equipment efficiently are stretched way too thin.

Of course, on any important job, the military leader has a mullah with a pistol sitting right behind him. This apparently was confirmed in the 80’s, when some of our Navy fighter pilots got a look at some Iranian F-14s while flying near Iran. The F-14 is a two seater, but apparently, the crewmembers in back (the RIOs) didn’t even have their equipment lit off during a hostile encounter! The most obvious explanation is that said crewmembers weren’t trained RIOs, they were political officers (mullahs).
