Rickety-Ass Canopy
This was the RNS hangout at Boomershoot 2007. Yes, I brought way too much crap — including, unfortunately, a crappy canopy.

The problem all sublime is that you bought a model which is not designed to be staked down, and the resulting strain of wind and ropes was uneven, and overstressed the frame.
The solution all sublime is to buy an actual tent, but one with roll-up sides. They ARE designed to be staked down. Stay away from the fiberglas spring-bow models, and get a tubing-frame model.
You can tell such a tent because it will have grommeted tabs sewn in to the upper corners. If it doesn’t have zippered sides, don’t fret, any competent upholsterer can install the zips for you.
