Just before I left, the news wires were talking about California AG, Bill Lockyer, filing a lawsuit against Chrysler, GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda and Nissan for “damages related to greenhouse gas emissions”.
Besides the topic of an obvious waste of government resources in an already cash strapped state, I do wonder if this guy walked to the courthouse to file the suit?
I also wonder why people like these freaks at “Friends of the Earth” actually think that supporting this delusional nutjob is a good idea?
Of course, they still haven’t figured out that all taxes paid by corporations (as well as lawsuit settlements) are paid by the consumer, so they’re just a little behind the curve, as usual.
The first burden in a lawsuit is proving that injury took place. The testimony of experts will be very interesting if these suits make it that far. I’m betting that they don’t however, since the Federal court is likely to rule that CA lacks jurisdiction to sue over this issue.
