After the Repubs told the Dems to put up or shut up on the subject of pulling out of Iraq last night, and the subsequent whimper from the Dems, I’m hoping this crap will die off.
Did I mention that I think I hope too much?
In the meantime, there are ethics violations waiting in the wings for our ex-Marine Representative from Pennsylvania, John Murtha. It seems that he may have used his defense appropriations committee position to help firms that were being consulted by his brother get the contracts they wanted.
Not smart, Murtha.
And now the Dems are calling this “The Swiftboating of John Murthaâ€?. They are saying that because he spoke out against Bush, he is now being investigated.
Excuse me, I thought that after what the Dems said about Rove, Cheney and Libby and the brouhaha over DeLay, that the Dems were all about making sure everyone in DC was squeaky clean?
But apparently not. They want their new star to be left alone in his possible criminal dealings and Karl Rove to get the death penalty.
If the hypocrisy wasn’t so think, I would have even mentioned it.
